Jules Grisham, Pastor
The pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church is Jules Grisham. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he studied history and economics at New York University (B.A., 1990), and worked for several years in the technology industry in the Washington, DC, area. During this period he came to faith in Christ, and in 1999 he realized that God was calling him to the pastoral ministry.
He pursued theological studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida (M.Div., 2003), and from 2002-2005 served as Pastor of Adult Education at Fourth Presbyterian Church, a 3000-member congregation in Bethesda, Maryland.
In October of 2005 he was called by Bucks Central Church to serve as pastor, and he began his ministry there on Christmas Eve 2005. (The congregation changed its name to Faith Presbyterian Church, November 16, 2008.) He comes to the Newtown area with his wife, Virginia, and son, Guy, full of joy and excitement at the prospect of proclaiming the gospel of grace in Bucks County. To contact Pastor Jules, please send an e-mail to Jgrisham@faithprez.org.
Rachel MacKay, Director of Music Ministry
Rachel was born and raised in a Christian home where faith in God and musical training were always the focus. She began to serve God with her musical abilities at a very young age and was led to major in music education in college.
It was in 1989 that she first came to serve on the worship team of this church in an assistant capacity. Following her passion to help others grow their musical talents, she formed “Relentless Faith” a youth jazz band in September of 2010. In June of 2012, she became the Director of Music Ministry and is very excited to share new music as well as time-honored music, with the congregation. “Music is such a glorious gift from God. It is a privilege to be involved with music in ways that help others worship God, learn the truth of His great love for us and also help others realize their own musical gifts.”
Rachel teaches about 35 piano students privately during the week. She lives with her husband Jeff and a few critters in Langhorne. In her spare time, she has honed her cappuccino making skills and can produce an award-winning brew. To contact Rachel, send an e-mail to rmackay@faithprez.org.
Debra Dearie, Office Manager
Debbie grew up in a military family, providing her the opportunity to experience unique parts of the country, and participate in Christian worship with diverse cultures within the U.S. When she was three years old, Debbie asked Jesus into her heart during a Sunday School class, and she continued to grow in her Christian faith as she remained involved with her various church families. Despite so many moves, Debbie – along with her parents and younger brother – remained an active participant in the local Christian communities (wherever her Navy family was stationed) and more distant short-term missions.
Upon graduating from Miami University with degrees in English and Music (concentrating on classical piano), Debbie worked as a high school English teacher and department head at Calvary Christian Academy in Philadelphia, PA. She also served as a church pianist, choir accompanist, and special musician at several churches. In 1996, Debbie married her husband Jeff, and now stays busy raising her two sons (Evan and Kyle) in the fear of the Lord, nurturing their athletic and musical interests and providing support from home for their academic success.
Debbie began attending Faith Presbyterian Church in 1998, and has been serving as Administrative Assistant since August of 2012. In her spare time, she enjoys window-shopping, jogging, and taking photographs at her sons’ games and performances. To contact Debbie, send an e-mail to ddearie@faithprez.org.
